The Arwen Trilogy

Some friendships last forever.

Original Characters

There are many original characters in this Trilogy, both major and minor. Here is where you will find short explanations on them. If there are any in the Trilogy that I have neglected to put below, just let me know, and I will add them.

I would also like to mention that most of the portraits you see below do not belong to me, but to the artists I commissioned to create them. Clicking on the names will take you to the artwork or account of the artist, where you can add your comments about it if you wish. Those that were created by myself will not have a link.

Warning.  The character descriptions below may contain spoilers for the Trilogy.

Major Characters

The most important original character of the Trilogy. Born in a small village deep in the jungles of Peru, she was sired at the age of 32 by a mysterious vampire known only as "The Mother." For untold centuries they reigned together in the jungle, until a twist of fate cast by the Valar themselves flung Faye into Middle-earth, and into the heart of Arwen's life. Though a gentle soul for the most part, Faye holds within her the dark bloodlust of her kind. When it is kindled, few are safe from her wrath.
First appearance: Vampiric Dawn

Maida

The cousin of Legolas, whose mother is Maida's mother's sister. When she was very young, it was agreed between her parents and Legolas' parents that she would stay in Mirkwood and be raised by the King and Queen, while her parents went to live at the Grey Havens. When Maida grew old enough to decide whether or not she wanted to go join her parents, she decided to remain living in Mirkwood. Light-hearted and playful, Maida possesses a very keen awareness of the present, and can percieve the minds and hearts of men. She later develops rudimentary foresight. As Arwen's best friend, she also has a bond with Faye, though it is nowhere near as strong.
First appearance: Vampiric Dawn

the Eagle

The noble messenger of the Valar, and that is about all that is known about him. He appears several times in the story, to offer guidance or to relay messages from the Valar. He plays a critical role in Faye's acceptance among the citizens of Rivendell. To those that see him, he looks like a great golden eagle, with brown and black feathers and golden wingtips. In order to complete his tasks, he is granted the ability to speak on several occassions.
First appearance: Vampiric Dawn

Minor Characters

Orphaned as a young child when her family was slaughtered by wolves in the forests of southern Mirkwood, Ancalima spent a portion of her childhood in the care of the Elves of Lorien. Though later sent to live with Elf-friends in the north, Ancalima returned to the area when she became an adult, and eventually setting out to wander the world for several years. These years of travel soon gained her a nickname among the Elves as "the wandering woman". When she grew too old to travel, Ancalima settled in a small patch of land in southern Mirkwood, protected by the power of the Elves. A fortunate discovery she made as a young child will prove to have unforeseen and profound effects on Faye and Arwen.
First appearance: Storm Front

The last surviving werewolf of Angband, and litter mate of the dreaded Carcharoth. For years he bided his time, acting as the pack leader of a group of mountain Wargs. But when he scents helpless "Elf-cubs" on the wind one night, he will show why the Valar decided to send Faye to Middle-earth.
